Children's books for farm shops and farm parks

A child who has just spent the morning meeting the animals will recognise every one of them on the page. That recognition is what turns a book on a gift shop shelf into a book a parent actually buys.

Farm Adventures — what we can supply

2 of 3 titles available now, 1 in preparation.

Titles marked in preparation are not yet published and cannot be supplied. We would rather tell you that up front than take an order for a set that is short.

Why farm-themed books sell in a farm shop

Gift shop retail at a visitor attraction is impulse-led and memory-led. A parent is not browsing for a book; they are looking for something that extends the day out. A book set on a farm, bought at a farm, does that in a way a generic picture book cannot.

The books are also genuinely educational rather than souvenir tat, which matters to the kind of parent who has just paid for a family ticket. Counting, colours and opposites are the first three things a two-to-five year old is working on, and they are what nurseries ask parents to practise at home.

Price point sits in impulse territory alongside a soft toy or a bag of animal feed, not alongside a big-ticket purchase.

What is in the Farm Adventures range

Three titles built around the same farmyard cast: Count to 10 on the Farm, Colours on the Farm, and Opposites on the Farm. Square format, paperback, for ages 2–5.

They work as a set or individually. A shop wanting one line usually takes the counting title, which has the broadest age appeal and the clearest gift message.

Fitting the range to your site

If your animals differ noticeably from the standard illustrations — rare breeds, a signature animal, a mascot — that is exactly the case for a custom edition rather than the standard book.

Farm parks with a named mascot or a strong visual identity tend to get more out of a branded edition than a standard one, because the book then works as a souvenir of your site specifically.

Talk to us about stocking

Creative Owl is a small independent publisher, so trade orders are arranged directly rather than through a wholesaler. Tell us which titles and roughly what quantity you have in mind and we will come back with terms.

Include your site, the titles you are interested in and rough quantities, and we can usually answer in one reply.

Want it branded as yours?

A custom edition carries your name and branding, so the book becomes a souvenir of your site rather than of farm shops in general.

How custom editions work

Common questions

Can we order for our farm shop or gift shop?

Yes. Get in touch with the titles and rough quantities you have in mind and we will come back with trade terms. We are a small independent publisher, so we would rather have a conversation than push you at a portal.

Do the books suit our age range of visitor?

They are written for two to five year olds. That maps closely onto the family audience for petting farms and open farms, where the youngest child usually sets the pace of the visit.

Can the books feature our farm's own animals?

That is what a custom edition does — your name and branding, and where it makes sense, your animals. Worth discussing early, because it changes the artwork rather than just the cover.
